About this station
Un Encino Rancho is located in the Texas Hill Country, in the small town of Wimberley. The ranch was named for the huge, ages-old Live Oak tree centered in the front of the property.
The shade provided by the oak is a favorite hang-out during the seasons for blue jays, armadillos, raccoons, squirrels and many generations of deer and their offspring.
Wimberley was named one of "America's Ten Best Small Towns" by Travel Holiday Magazine. Although it's a nice sentiment, the locals have tried to keep it their own "little secret" for years.
Due to its location in the Texas Hill Country, the weather in this area tends to be a bit wetter and cooler than the nearby cities of Austin and San Antonio.
